Ps. 7 - God prepares us as He did David - I'm hoping my spiritual disciplines work alongside my daily experiences to translate all for His glory - physical and sptitual. (as they did with Jesus (MT 4)
Matt. 4:1-11 - If life's various supports were removed from me, would I be in a strong place, whittled to my core allegiance and strength in God? (E. Stanley Jones - "I need no outer props to hold up my faith, my faith holds me.") Jesus certainly understands my life, as He lived it. I, conversely, don't have to be worried to be tempted "as He was", for His call is vastly more important than mine. Why then do I ever falter?
Acts 4:23-37 - What things are "shaken" by prayer? God's planning another shaking up (Hebrews). Where is my strength to do what I'm called to do with "fearless confidence"? He gives it through His Spirit - if the apostles needed to ask for it in prayer, I certainly need to do the same. God's people are united and strengthened by this work and His response.
Gen. 18-20 - Has God appeared to me as He did to Abraham? How have I handled it (a word of encouragement for what he and Sarah truly desire, as well as a word of warning to him about a loved relative who is the closest thing he has to an heir\son). Great Q of Bible: "Is anything too hard for God?". God hears the cries of the victims of Sodom, but Lot doesn't even notice them as he lives with them. Who am I willing to "stand before the Lord" for, even if they are in the wrong and worthy of God's judgements?
