On Sunday, November 14th, you will have an opportunity to make a global impact by giving out of your excess.  Most of us have a gently worn pair of shoes in our closet that we no longer wear.  We have the opportunity to help the victims of the latest disaster in Indonesia by donating our gently worn shoes to Soles4Souls®.  Soles4Souls is an organization that cooperates with Buckner Child and Family Services to provide shoes to victims of disasters and those in need all over the world.  

Here’s how it works.  On Sunday, November 14th, wear the shoes you would like to give away and at the end of the worship service, leave them at the altar.  If you choose, walk out of church barefoot to identify with those who have no shoes.  Your children can also participate in barefoot Sunday.  There will be a collection box in the Atrium where they can place their shoes.  All children’s shoes that are given (also through Soles4Souls) will be sent to an orphanage in Moldova that C.E.R.I. has identified as a place of need.  Our former pastor, Dr. Dearing Garner, is aware of the work of Soles4Souls and has helped us identify the orphanage that we can help the most.
